Sharedband Configuration Types |
|
Type 1 Type 1 configurations are the most common. Two Sharedband enabled routers are configured with an IP address on the local network (i.e 192.168.10.252 and 192.168.10.253) they are also configured with an additional Virtual IP Address (i.e 192.168.10.254). All users on the local network will point to the virtual IP Gateway which will remain available in the event of a single connection loss.
Type 2 Type 2 configurations are used commonly with VPN connections. A small NAT based subnet is created using the Sharedband enabled routers to connect to the customers Edge router. Again the Sharedband routers are assigned individual IP addresses and also a Virtual IP address for redundancy features.
