Software as a service

In the current economic climate the need to do more with less is even more pressing. This has led many organisations to not replace ageing software in an attempt to reduce costs. While this may provide short term gain, in the long term your business could suffer due to reduced availability and increased maintenance costs.

Some organisations prefer to lease their software as it can help cash flow, but even this method does not protect you from falling asset value. When you think about it there is no value in actually owning your software. It does not appreciate in value and advances are regularly making it obsolete.

The good news is that there is now a better way to obtain the up-to-date critical software your business needs to survive.

What is SaaS?
Software as a Service (SaaS) has been around as a concept for a number of years, but it is only recently that the full benefits of it have been realised.

SaaS is where a third party provides a licence for customers to access a software application and the customer pays only a small monthly or annual fee based on usage and the number of licences required.

The Talk Internet SaaS solution
Talk Internet can provide the software via our Microsoft Service Provider Licence Agreement (SPLA). This covers everything from server and desktop operating systems, through Web site and database solutions and even office productivity tools like Microsoft Office.

We provide our SaaS solution on a server hosted at one of our data centres. So you do not need to bother about investing up-front in new hardware or software or worry about how you are going to support it.

Benefits
By utilising our SaaS solution, you will enjoy the following benefits:

  • Cost effective - provides new software and regular updates for a low-cost monthly or annual fee
  • Scalability - enables new capacity to be easily added and removed within hours, so that you only ever pay for what you need
  • Security - the software and your data is located at our state-of-the-art data centre
